BFD Alignment Clamp

BFD alignment clamp for steel frame formwork panels. The clamp spans the joint between two panels, hooks over the frame profile on both sides, and a steel wedge pulls the two together so the joint closes flush. It is the part that keeps the panel face flat at the seam before the pour, and it is the joint detail that decides whether a wall shows a ridge line after stripping. The cast body version takes heavy cycling; the stamped steel versions come in two sizes for lighter panel weights.

Specifications

  • Fits Trio-type steel frame panel profiles
  • Aligns and locks the panel-to-panel joint
  • Steel driving wedge, no spanner needed
  • Holds the joint flush before the pour

Material Grades Explained

GradeNotes
Q235Plain carbon steel. Economic option for light and medium formwork loads. Not heat treated.
45#Medium carbon steel. The standard formwork tie rod grade in China; quenchable to class 8.8.
40CrAlloy steel. Higher hardenability and better fatigue performance than 45#; used where repeated reuse matters.
Class 10.9 boltQuenched and tempered alloy steel bolt used in the climbing cone set. Not electroplated without a documented baking cycle.
QT450-10Ductile (nodular) iron with 450 MPa tensile and 10% elongation. Used for sleeves and embedded plates where toughness and castability matter.
HRB400Hot-rolled ribbed bar (threaded steel) to Chinese standard. Used for embedded foot bolts; good bond with concrete.

Procurement Guide

  • Confirm the panel frame profile with your formwork supplier
  • One clamp per joint, two for long joints
  • Stamped version for lighter panels, cast body for heavy cycling
  • Keep spare wedges on site - the wedge is the wear part

Technical FAQ

BFD Alignment Clamp — Answers for Engineers and Buyers

D15 and D20 refer to the nominal bar diameter (about 15 mm and 20 mm). At the same steel grade, tensile capacity scales with cross-sectional area, so a D20 bar carries roughly 1.7 to 1.8 times the load of a D15. D15 is typical for residential slabs and light walls; D20 is used for thicker walls, higher pour rates and heavier hydrostatic loads. Final selection must always be checked against the formwork pressure calculation for the specific pour height and rate.
